EMS CE Radar
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how EMS CE Radar handles information for the public website, mobile app, support forms, and class issue reports.
Effective date: July 19, 2026
Overview
EMS CE Radar is a public class discovery tool for EMS continuing education and public safety training opportunities. The service helps users search, review, and access public class listings from regional community college continuing education sources.
EMS CE Radar is provided as an informational tool. It is not an official college registration system, credentialing authority, or course approval agency.
Information We Collect Automatically
When users access the EMS CE Radar website or app, standard technical information may be processed by the website, hosting provider, server, or security tools. This may include information such as browser type, device type, date and time of access, referring page, requested page, and basic server log information.
EMS CE Radar may use this information to maintain security, troubleshoot technical issues, monitor performance, and improve the reliability of the website and app.
Information We Do Not Require in the MVP App
The current MVP mobile app does not require a login and is intended to function as a public class listing app. In the MVP app, EMS CE Radar does not require users to create an account or provide personal information simply to browse class listings.
In the MVP app, EMS CE Radar does not intentionally collect:
- Account usernames or passwords
- Phone numbers
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Photos or media
- Health information
- Payment information
- Advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising
Public Class Data
The website and app display public course information such as course title, college, category, course type, delivery method, date, time, location, price, seats available, registration links, source links, availability status, and course descriptions when available.
This class information is collected from public college registration pages, public course schedules, and related public sources. Dates, seats, costs, descriptions, and availability may change. Users should verify all details directly with the listed college before registering.
Local Caching in the Mobile App
The mobile app may cache public class listings on the device to improve performance, reduce repeated loading, and provide limited access when the connection is poor. Cached class data is public course information and is not used to identify the user.
Support Requests and Class Issue Reports
If a user submits a support request, app issue, website issue, or class listing correction through the website or mobile app, EMS CE Radar may collect the information provided in the form. This may include:
- Name, if provided
- Email address
- Issue category
- Subject
- Message content
- Related class or page URL
- Public ticket number
- Basic technical information used for spam prevention and security
When a user reports an issue from a class listing, the form may be prefilled with class details such as course title, college, date, time, location, seats, price, and registration link. This helps EMS CE Radar identify the listing being reported.
How Support Request Information Is Used
Support request information is used to:
- Respond to support requests
- Investigate incorrect or outdated class information
- Review broken registration links
- Improve class listing accuracy
- Maintain security and reduce spam or abuse
- Send a confirmation email with a support ticket number
- Notify EMS CE Radar administrators of new support requests
Email Notifications
When a support request or class issue report is submitted, EMS CE Radar may send a confirmation email to the email address provided by the user. EMS CE Radar may also send an administrative notification to the EMS CE Radar support team.
EMS CE Radar uses authenticated server-side email sending. The mobile app does not contain email server credentials, SMTP credentials, database credentials, or other private server secrets.
Spam Prevention and Security
EMS CE Radar may use basic anti-abuse measures for support forms and API submissions. These may include rate limiting, validation, honeypot fields, server-side checks, and storage of a hashed version of the user’s IP address.
EMS CE Radar does not store the raw IP address in the support request record when IP hashing is used. The hash is used only to help reduce repeated spam or abusive submissions.
Data Storage and Retention
Support requests and class issue reports may be stored in the EMS CE Radar database so they can be reviewed, tracked, and resolved. Email send attempts may also be logged to help troubleshoot notification delivery.
EMS CE Radar keeps support request information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain service quality, troubleshoot issues, and protect the service from abuse.
External Registration Links
EMS CE Radar links to official college registration pages or other public source websites. When users open those links, they leave EMS CE Radar and are subject to the privacy practices, terms, and policies of the external website.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The MVP app is designed without advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party ad networks. EMS CE Radar does not sell user data to advertisers.
If analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, user accounts, subscription preferences, or additional personalization features are added in the future, this policy should be updated before those features are released.
Data Security
EMS CE Radar uses HTTPS for public web and API access. Support requests are submitted to the server over HTTPS and are processed server-side. Administrative tools, sync tools, database credentials, email credentials, and private configuration files should remain protected outside the public web root.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but EMS CE Radar uses reasonable measures to protect support request information and server-side credentials.
Children's Privacy
EMS CE Radar is not directed to children. The service is intended for EMS providers, public safety personnel, adult learners, and users seeking continuing education information.
Your Choices
Users may browse public class listings without submitting a support request. If a user chooses to submit a support request, they should provide only the information necessary to describe the issue.
Questions about support request data or requests for deletion may be submitted through the support page.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as EMS CE Radar features change. The effective date above will be updated when significant changes are made.
